The Faber-Castell family company was founded in 1761 when Kaspar Faber began to make his first graphite pencils in Stein, Germany.  Today after 250 years Faber-Castell stands as the world’s oldest manufacturer of writing instruments still in family hands, and is led in the eighth generation by Count Anton Wolfgang von Faber-Castell.  His brother Count Andreas Wilhelm von Faber-Castell (Andy), is responsible for the rapidly developing Asia Pacific region of the group.
